Old time pro back country rider getting back into the sport.

Started sledding in 1992, dis some crazy stuff from 2000 to 2010 or so, Did the big iron shootout many times, went 90mph up a chute on my turbo cat 1000 on 24 psi,
had so much fun over the years. In 2012 i got buried in avalanche and i for the most part stopped riding. I still have my 2003 cmx with a psi 1200 that runs great and a 2007 cat with a twisted turbo kit, runs great but i broke the diamond drive last time out few years ago. I have parts to fix. Question i have is what the heck to buy? I want to finally buy a new machine, man they are light now!! either a turbo summit x 155, 900r 155 or polaris boost 155 are my choices. I keep going back n forth. I live in Washington so the snow can be very deep and heavy, but Na sleds runs pretty good here because much of our riding is between 3-6k feet. I do not want a sled the Is always pointing the skis straight up like the khaos. How is the power on the 9r? i was thinking getting 9r and doing a silber turbo, however i just want a good fast fun sled that i am not working on all the time. My strong points are engine tuning and clutching. Good to be back here, been a very long time, i first joined back around 2000 i think.

How simular will a new summit turbo feel compared to the polaris boost? Going riding this weekend with a buddy, he has a 24 turbo doo. Imagine the power will be close. I'm leaning towards the 900r right now.
Doo and poo handle VERY differently.

Poo will be much closer to your 07 M1000 as far as steering geometry.

Power of the doo turbo is more responsive than poo stock. (I ride a Boost and freely admit stock vs stock the doo is better)

Great runability if you can tolerate the handling. (Thy are still using a trail sled steering for mountain sleds)

Poo has 2 completely different sets of steering Components for trail vs mtn so you can get the specific setup you want.

Sounds like nothing has changed, I never could get used to the doo before. The steering for me always felt strange I guess. Last time I had my cmx out people were laughing at how old tech it was. They stopped laughing when they watched that old girl high mark some new machines with ease lol. It's old but it weights 430 lbs and has 225 hp. I had a guy in Alberta names Brent Lindemann do his magic on that psi 1200. The old days were fun, I would spend hrs on here talking clutching lol.

You should check out Carl cycle center torsion tri roller clutch set up for the Polaris 9R and boost.

Maybe revise that recommendation to a boost if you're used to 225 horse. Might as well go full meal deal and throw a 9r top end on the boost and go wild.

I too rode high HP mod sleds with PSI's for several years and then went to "stock" na sleds, its a hard mental thing to get over going from mod to stock. But nothing like pull the cord and go with out having to worry or be constantly wrenching. Price wise between a 9R and Boost, i would go boost all day long.

Man that cat 858 is looking better and better, 15k, 3500 for a silber turbo. That cat has a really nice track approach angle.
i havent ridden a Catalyst chassis, but on my 2020 Alpha the monorail was great until it would randomly wash out in the most inopportune times, it just wasnt predicable in the steep stuff

The catalyst, for the most part, doesn't wash out. Night and day better.
The one silber 858 video, I seen, spooled really slow.
