Skins

So where does one find these.
Here's what I am going to try.
I am going to make up a custom exhaust type wrap for the whole engine, very similar to what we use in the marine industry. Ill post pics when I'm done.

I have started using armaflex pipe covering ,,black closed cell foam, cut and fit all around the engine, easy to work with and contact cement sticks it together starting to cut out shapes to fit everywhere

I was thinking about that a few days ago. I bet you could find one for a CR/KX 500, could be kind of cool if you got a wrap made for the whole bike and kit.

Found some more info, there is a guy in ct that is still making them, he says now he has them for crf450s 09-12 they are about $200 for a set he also has hand guards/front Gaurd that would work good too, almost like a windshield.

Here is a link to his site

I talked to him for a while on the phone today, he seems pretty stoked about the snowbike idea.

i think it needs to enclose the entire engine. it would be a good start. maybe he can do some more to the existing part.

John, said that he makes them him self and is open to new ideas, he vacuum molds them and just takes the bikes and designs them right to the bike, he said he was going to check out the forum, before today he was totally unaware of snowbikes, but now he seems super pumped, hopefully we will see him soon here

I had the tarp shop make a fitted cover two years ago. we sewed in some welding blanket by the exhaust. ive had to remove it once for overheating(no powder). the bike runs 150-190 all day in powder.

Ask him to design some for a 570. :face-icon-small-win

Plastic case........in case

So far this winter every ride 25 degrees in new deep snow, my thermostat was a big help, but all day long every after a hard climbe my right radiator was covered in snow. So engine just not making heat.

Last week I made a complete skid pan out of plastic from a pickup truck bedliner I have cut up and saved to make loading ramp guides.

Today in lots of fluff, radiators were hot to the touch, when I stopped water was pouring out of the bottom of my skid pan and engine hot to the touch, almost like spring time bike riding, not blistering hot but hot. so far ........good improvemnt. left side cover can be pulled with two screws if things are too warm on a nice day.
