Yamaha guys,
Pastor has a 1989 phazer that he asked me to look at. I've not ridden yamaha so I'm looking to you guys for help. The primary clutch sheaves seem to be about 1/16-3/32 too narrow which is causing the sled to always be engaged now that he finally put a new belt on it.
I borrowed a 1990 clutch from a friend of mine and noticed that the sheaves are a fat 1/16" wider and it seems like it would work just fine (haven't tried it since I don't have a puller.)
So the question is: is there a way to adjust the deflection on the primary with this clutch? If so, how do I do that? I don't want to buy another clutch if I don't have to especially when he just putts around on it with his kids.
Thanks,
schu
