ok Utahans

Here is the deal. Someone is going to die this week...after weeks of clear cold nights the snow has turned into surgar (temprature gradient snow) with layers of ice crystals. I don't know what British Columbia was like last year with all the avalanches, but this has to the most dangerous snow pack ever. If there is any loading from the storms this week it will be very very dangerous.

Please be careful.

Awesome post hope that no one gets hurt and we can all ride another day. remember to check the conditions the night and morning before the ride. Make sure you pack is ready and your batteries are new. Finally pray for big snow. Be safe everyone

I went out yesterday here in southern Idaho and read the reports. Said considerable. We headed up top and got into 3 feet of powder. I saw three slides that were naturally caused. I have ridden here before and never heard of or seen slides in these areas. BE CAREFUL

You're not kidding! The snow up Franklin Basin was incredible today! But its like he said, super loose snow, we saw a few slides, mostly small ones but the ones we saw went straight to the dirt. The conditions are the same up towards Island Park, Id. My brother was lucky to walk away with his life after getting buried under 4 feet from a slide up black canyon, luckily his buddies saw his glove sticking out of the snow. Be careful out there, more snow to come, snow conditions for avalanches should get even worse.
