ok to run d and d y with slp pipe/can?

I have a slp pipe coming and a slp can and want to put the d and d y-pipe I have on with it with my new BD box that is coming. WIll that flow ok or fit well? I have a very strong itch, that needs to be scratched. I need this sled to kick some arse this year or it is out of the stable!!

I need a slp y pipe then?

If I do, then I will trade someone a d and d for the slp y pipe..
I could also re-sell it and buy the slp y pipe. Looks like some significant hp gains with the y pipe. Probably worth having...

run it

The D&D is longer so this may casue you some issues.
I ran a D&D with a SW single and a can- Fit was great.
But I will tell you that getting a head/ running a Y pipe/ and a aftermarket can- will enable you to tune your box more precise that having a single pipe on that sled.
After dumping the pipe ( SW/ SLP) Tried them both- the sled actually likes the stock pipe! CAt did their homework on this one for sure.
Tuning these mod's to a stock pipe-really makes the difference-so if you do all you mod's and have diffucltly tunning it-the stock pipe on paper may look like it makes less power- but it will get you further on the hill, the torque is better 4-sure and your not always playing the balance of the tuning........:present:

Thanks again, the temptation for all the extra hp with the full pipe/can/y combo is tempting. I would guess, I could just run the y-pipe/slp can and see what I can get.. If nothing else I could either sell the slp pipe or the d and d y-pipe.

Interesting that yours liked the stock pipe the best. This is not what I saw at all. I installed the slp pipe and rode with 09's that had the stock pipe and the power was not even close. Get the piped setup clutched right and the power difference is huge. I live 30min from slp and on there dyno they gained 14hp with the full pipe setup over stock.

I'm alittle confused iluv2fly. SLP advertises their exhaust setup makes 24.8 HP.Stock 168HP & with exhaust 192.8HP
You said you seen 14 on their dyno:confused:I bought this exhaust setup so I'm just trying to find out what Horse Power I paid for.Hope you can help me out:).
Thanks

Tell me more!!

I ran a y and a can and tried many diff ways to get the power, which I did with the stock pipe(haven't tried the head yet, may be the difference) but when I added the pipe the sled flat woke up, huge gain. My friend weighs 60lbs lighter than me and ride a 09 sp m1 and I ride a 09 std m1 and he has a y and can. I run the full slp and walk all over him. the trick I think to get torque and smooth power out of the m1 is to not run them lean. (give it fuel) I ran egts stock and at wot they read 1150, I ran my sled around 12-1250 and was getting beat by a cutler 1000 then I added fuel and got the egts to run 1150 and hold, then the cutler couldn't keep up for the rest of the day. A friend has the slp and head on a 08 m1000 and keeps up with me. So I think the sled likes the pipe and is every bit of the advertised 192hp. But I havent' seen mountain doo's run either.
