OK, time for the Miss Extreme Contest!!!!! - ONE WEEK LEFT!!!

Are you a top-notch rider?

Last year we asked for all the extreme lady riders out there to submit an essay about why they should be featured in a sled video along with some action and headshot pics.

The entries will be judged by five judges, including a past winner, plus we will post the info on our website Jan. 2 and allow for on-line judging for two weeks before announcing the winner Jan. 15th.

Winner will be featured in Sled Heads 4 with the likes of Cody Borchers, Randy Swenson, Brett Turcotte, Ross Mercer, Aleksander Nordgaard plus our Be Extreme winner. Winner will also receive over $1000 in prizes.

Women riders?

So how many women riders frequent this board? I'm new here, from the flats, but ride out west occassionally and alot of ditch-banging around here. I'm usually the only chic riding in the group I ride with. I guess I'm content with that. Rode all my life, grew up on my old Rupp 440 nitro!!! Would love to chit chat with other chics that ride, could use some pointers. LOVE THE BIG HORNS!

my wife applied last year (snobuny on the sled forums), not sure if she'll send in this year or not. we are going to togwotee in a week and a half hoping to get some better action pics of her for the resume. she has been a past test rider for snow goer, rides sport bikes, dirt bikes and races supermoto. my best friend and bestest riding partner ever. she rides better than most men i ride with. even called a few of them out our last trip to wyoming. i believe she told one young man to get the sand out of his p&*#y and ride, when he wouldnt climb a long hill/chute, she was climbing earlier in the day. was funny as hell to see the look on his face, as well as our entire crews reaction afterwards. LOL all in good fun here's a pic of her at the snowy mnt range. ski

Thomas, I have a question. I'm thinking maybe others do too since only 26 people have done the poll and 787 have viewed this thread. I'm not sure how many have actually seen the video..... :P

So........ here's my take........ I have not answered the poll yet as I have mixed answers for you.

On the poll, are you asking us to rate Amber as a rider?

For many, this may seem like one in the same question. However, for me, it is not.

I've ridden w/ Amber quite a bit and honestly, her riding in the video is NOTHING like what I've seen in person. So, if I was to answer the question as I see it in writing, I'd have to say.... “well, I wanted more”.

I know Amber. When she was chosen, I about came out of my skin, a better chicka couldn’t have been chosen to represent us ladies in this sport! She is a very talented back country/ technical rider. Knowing this, I’d answer “Incredible, great rider!”. She is a great teacher/ leader. She IS the personality of 20 cats :eek: balled up in one tiny fur coat, she makes you smile, she makes you feel good, she sings “Walkin’ on sunshine” while descending from a nice long climb! She is a sidehilling, around and through the trees, monster. :D She is an absolute riot to ride w/, this didn’t shine through in her segment. This isn’t the Amber that was shown in the video.

I saw a lot of looping in her segment. I’d definitely like to see the next winner get a full on 5 minute segment with all of your heart put into it, hers too! :P So, I guess in short (or long)………… I WANT MORE!!!!!!!!!! (I know I know... always wanting more....... :))

Good job CG.....I was going to ask the same question. While I LOVED watching her segment and her riding skills, I sure as heck wanted to see MORE. Definitely would have liked to see a much longer segment on her. :)

if I recall your wife was right up there in the top 5...but it all comes down to five judge scores, which, thankfully is not my department.

CG - poll is for folks who watched the film. Looks like most folks enjoyed the segment. Also looks like there are a ton of folks who have not purchased the film, yet! (we have a snowest special Sled Heads 1-3 right now). No looping in the film, either. I had Amber do similar runs due to the fact that we had tons of weather problems and I only will shoot with good light, so with limited time we had to get shots. On our last day filming we were with Krazy Canadian in Castlegar. By the end of the day Amber was pulling most of the chutes following after Krazy. But the weather had turned so we didn't film it. Take Amber back up for a few days with the likes of Krazy, Swenson, Story, etc. and she would rock every other woman hill climber I have ever seen (on video or otherwise).
