oils

I will be going to Ams Oil Interceptor Synthetic and I am using Bombardier Mineral injection oil. Will it mix or do I need to drain the oil tank? I could use some advice. Thanks

just test to see if it creates a glob when mixed.

I would take a small sample of each and mix together in a small jar, place it in the freezer for a couple of hours and see what it does. As long as it doesn't react and form a waxy substance you should be ok. You may want to dump in between 50 to 100:1 oil ratio in the tank for the first ride or so to make sure the pump likes the new oil.

When I switched to synthetic, I kept a quart of the new oil on the sled and rode till it was about out of the mineral oil (oil light coming on repeatidly). Might as well burn what you have already bought before switching and this way you don't have to worry about it mixing correctly.

It will mix without a problem......Just keep adding Interceptor until the stink goes away.....Then you'll know that all of the BRP oil is gone.

Don't be cheap! It may cost you more...

For all it costs, drain your old oil, and make sure you change the oil filter. What can happen is that the two don't really mix and can clog your oil filter. I had this happen to me when I was on a ride and didn't have any extra Amsoil on hand and had to buy whatever they had. It did plug my filter and not much oil was going through at all. My mechanic had told me this may happen when we switched over to Amsoil from the regular oil in the first place but I was in a bind. I guess I should have just added it to the tank instead. So what is cheaper a filter and waisting some oil or maybe a motor?? Hmmm
