Oil

:deadhorse:

1: Easy to get anywhere Good oil
2: AM Soil never !!! Unless I need to lube a track
3: IMO Best oil Available

4??: You forgot Legend ZX-SR and R ... One tick below redline as far as builders recommend, #1+1 for great smell Especially the R smells like Fresh washed clothes ( Tide/Bounce )

Personally, I started using Klotz a few years back and no issues. In fact I get it from "klotzlubemn" right here on snowest. He's great to deal with, good price and quick shipping!!!

The later two oils ( Legend , Klotz ) are both made here in the flatland area but I've never had any issues or bad Comments on either ..

Klotz is like our Walmart here not a bad oil but it smells funny like someone is trying to hard !It's made in Indiana , they also sell warm beer next to it ??? Now you see what I'm saying!

0 issues with polaris ves. I also haven't ever paid more that 28/gallon for it. Just bought 5 gallons for $15/each so can't beat that...

0 issues with amsoil. I have ran it in my last 5 sleds, all Polaris, for the last 10 years without a single engine problem. Indy dan does recommend Polaris ves though

All of the above. You won't find anyone that has had issues with any of the name brand full synthetics. They all work just fine. I personally have used Klotz a lot, but now use Mystik JT4 full synthetic because I can get it all day long at Fleet Farm for $24/gallon. Even less when on sale.

They all have good protection, but they all dont burn the same. Some are much cleaner. My exhaust valves stay the cleanest running Redline.

I use Legend as well. Kind of expensive. Never a problem though. Smells great! Smoke doesn't burn your eyes. I don't know what is in them . . .but it is painful to ride behind those that burn Amsoil and Redline!! VES is not too bad.

OK will choose RLine

PS here in europe we have different VES oil from polaris it is more liquid and the color of oil is more yellow..and it is in different canister(silver) not blue(usa)

legend -- my preferred due to quality, smell and its a blend. excellent protection and doesn't gum up exhaust valves.

amsoil -- way down my list to consider for several reasons. opposite of the above.

poo ves -- overpriced but works in a pinch and doesn't smell bad.

klotz -- smells like a flower shop and has good protection.

mystic jt4-- low cost, great protection doesn't smell terrible but nothing special either.

for the extra money, legend is well worth the hassle of ordering a case at a time.

if you have a new engine (break in) or your sled lives outdoors you may want dino oil or at least a blend. some of the synthetics can leave you less protected in the off season. best to fog the machine if you go full synthetic and plan to leave in a non climate controlled situation.

edit: here is a link to the best price i've found when you include the free shipping...

this is the lower grade oil they make but it's still more than enough to protect your investment.

I've used AMSOil for years. I've never had a single engine burn down during that time (knock on wood). I had a Dragon 700, 800 a couple Pro 800's and while everyone else seem to be reporting motor problems, I never burned down. I put 3600 miles on the D7, 2800 on the D8, 2500 on the first Pro and 1500 on the second. I've used it in three Duramax's, an R6, Beta 300 2 stroke, Honda 4 stroke, wife's car, YFZ450 and even the lawn mower. Seems that oil has been legit for me.

Another Vote for Legend. I have been running the ZX-2SR in my last two sleds. Buy it 4 gallons at a time. Great company. They have some good info on their website for those interested.
