Oil Tank Leak

Had trouble tracking down a leak that was coming from somewhere around the oil tank and finally nailed it down. On the bottom of the tank where the 90 degree elbow fitting goes in, it is attached to the oil tank via a aluminum block that is then attached to the oil tank. This block stays with the tank when the fitting is taken off and is not shown as a seperate part in any diagrams I looked at. The oil is leaking from around the top of the block where it meets the oil tank! This block isn't welded on the outside and I have no idea how its attached on the inside. Anyone else had a problem in this area, JB Weld time??? Sherm

LOTS of these!!!!

JBweld, or real weld, or warranty it if you still have warranty...

Thats the spot! So have they welded it on the inside or just a pressure fit? I'll JB weld it for starters, looks like pretty thin metal to put a bead of weld on it, thanks guys! Sherm

On the new tanks (2010) this area is reinforced. New p/n supercedes the old one. I have a friend who is starting to build aftermarket tanks. These will forever fix this problem.

Exact same thing on my nytro. JB weld did the trick. Be careful tightening the elbow back on the. I heard my jb weld cracking when I tightened the allan key bolts in.
