OIL RATIO

Dealer turned up my pump a little, I used 10 oz of oil to 4.6 gal of gas, is this about right ? I did a mix of trail and hill climbs, just not sure how to do the ratio. This is on an 11 Pro

multiply 4.6 by 128 which is oz in a gallon. divide by 10. 58.8:1 the oil pump is progressive so you will never get the exact same ratio every ride. when i have a wfo day, i'm looking for at least 40:1. ok with 32:1 but more than that is unnecessary imo, but 60:1 would make me nervous if i was seeing that on a regular basis, especially on a heavy throttle day. the highest i have seen is about 56:1 for a day and they included a substantial amount of trail riding. i will probably put a couple turns on the pump next time i have the airbox out. would much rather use a little more than not enough. they are still two strokes. they need the oil for lubrication. this has not changed just b/c the EPA has gotten involved...

I know on a sticky thread in the IQ section it is advised to have oil at 57:1...but have heard some say that is lean....is it different on the pro's?

again, it's still a two stroke. 57:1 for what kind of riding? easy trail ride? sure i wouldn't be too worried about that. but imo, this is a little on the high side to me. the iq pump is also progressive so i'm not sure how a specific ratio can be suggested. there are too many variables to do that.

I have not checked it after the last ride, most of our riding includes a lot of trail just to get to the good stuff and by trails I mean twisty roads, on off the gas all the time and most of the good stuff is still in trees so wot is in short burst with a few longer pulls, with the pump being progressive and all the variables in our riding area I guess I will have to average a few rides together and maybe check with my dealer. Thanks to everyone for the info and the correct way to figure the ratio.
