Oil Pump?

This is probably a dumb question, where exactly is the oil pump located (08 D7)? I need to adjust it but it seems it is buried way down under the throttle bodies. I don't have a manual and all I found on searches is how to adjust it - that I can do, I just can't find it. I'm going through over a quart of oil in half a tank.

Pull the seat, gas tank, then air box. You'll see the oil pump under the throttle bodies. Move the throttle flipper and you will see the oil pump linkage arm that has the tit on it that lines up with the casting mark at idle as the manual states. Not a bad idea to fudge on the rich side in those years just to be safe. Good luck. EW

Looks like someone poached my pic!!!!:face-icon-small-sho

As for getting at the oil pump all I do is pull the airbox, secondary, and (I believe) the throttle-bodies to check/adjust it. I've never pulled the tank.

I save some and also take my own pictures to help others when i can. Hope you don't mind I added that to my collection. I didn't have my own pic of a close up on the alignment marks:face-icon-small-win

'08 pump has a shorter arm then my '07 and seems to use more oil...

Finally had a chance to pull everything apart to get a look at the pump - it was way off. Took about three and a half turns out on the adjuster nut to get it close to the alignment mark. Thanks again everyone for the help!
