oil pump problem?

I've got an 05 rev 800, 2700 miles. put rkt pistons, rings, head and porting in @ 1800 miles. ever since sled eats oil like im getting paid to burn it. cable setting is less than stock, I have a spring on it to keep it from sticking.
it burns so much oil that in one tank of gas the oil light comes on before I run out. Any ideas?
thanks, sean

Do you have a leak on the oil system anywhere? How about the hose that connects to the water pump nipple?

Are you smoking a lot? What do your plugs look like (post picture).

Yes

it smokes like a b%*@#ard! got home late from work, i'll get pics up tommorrow. I've looked all over and cannot find any leaks. considering the oil pump delete kit to clean up the problem.

Man that's a wierd one!!!I wonder if it could draw oil out of the center cavity through the seal??

That is the direction I am thinking also. If a center seal is leaking, it will draw oil into the crank case and burn it. Your dealer can do an engine pressure check to see if this is the problem.

The oil pump return spring is most likely sticking when it warms up.Pumping lots of oil at any throttle position

What exactly is the cable measurment? I believe the proper setting is 18mm.

If I read your original post correctly you also have an EXTRA spring connected to the pump (and the clutch side frame) to help pull it closed when off throttle. Correct?
