Oil pump HELP

Ok guys, so I need some help here. So coming off of the throttle bodies you have that arm that goes down to I believe the oil pump and attaches to a part which is on a spring (Look at attached picture), anyways, I lost my setup on that and the spring came off causing the thing to spin, so now the spring is not attched anymore (I could attach it again) and I have no idea what position it needs to be in because it span freely.... SO, whats actually inside there is it a bearing and this wont effect setup at all? Can I just hook it back up and its good to go again or is there a specific position it needs to be turned at?

Any info helps (and no I dont have a owners manual)

Thanks guys

From what I understand, you need to align the V notch, which I outlined in yellow, to the centerline of the block nub, which I lined in white.

In the pic, I can't tell if there is enough room, CCW, for the arm to pass that oil line. Doesn't look like it. If not, It's fairly straight forward. Then fine tune with oil pump adjustment screw.

Thanks thats a good start but if the arms sitting in that spot then which direction do I want the tension on the spring to be clockwise or counter clockwise? And the arm span so i have no way of knowing if it turned 100 times or 1 time or in which direction. So is there a nozzle inside or how does it work inside? Is the screw the only thing that effects the actual oil flow or could this turning on me also change the setup?

You want it so it is working against the spring , spin it counter clockwise to get it back against the spring.
The pump goes to max flow when the arm comes off

The spring wont grab the arm anymore I need to completely re set the spring onto it, and its been spun a bit trying to get it onto the spring that now I dont know for sure where it was in the first place... Which is why im trying to figure out if something inside the pump itself does an adjustment or how it works, because its just completely out of wack right now

Hard to say without seeing it but when you take the linkage off it will unwind itself clockwise , you will need to spin it around counter clockwise either 180* or 540* can't remember , I think it's closer to 540 , there you will feel the spring grab it again , and that's were you hook the linkage back up , and it will pivot towards the mag side. And it will act against the spring

Im not around the sled right now to try things, but i spun it and it wouldnt grab it just kept on spinning, and stupid me didnt count the spins so everything is out of wack. If i pulled it apart tomorrow id think that it would make things more clear for me but I might be wrong on that.

So does anyone know if as long as the adjustment screw is in the right place will I still have my setup? Or can the fact that the lever spun on me change the setup even with the screw in the right spot? I just need to be sure about everything oil pump is the last thing I wanna mess with

Did that to mine last season and spun it freely for an unknown number of times. I had the same thought, but I just lined it according to the service manual, and it didn't effect output or operation at all. I havent taken it apart to look, but I assume its just position dependent and has no adjustment. There is no mention of any adjustment here in the service manual either.

Thank you sir thats what I was hoping to hear!
