oil pump adjustment question

I just replaced my throttle cable (04 King Cat) and was wondering if the oil is shut off to the motor when the linkage is in the idle position. I am having a hard time seeing the marks and can't tell if it is fully in the idle position or not. Any suggestions?

They still feed some oil when on the peg. The marks are easy to see with the air box off.

I use a dental style mirror with a long handle to get a good look at the marks
