oil injection for turbo lube

Will be starting this project soon. 1994 Storm 827cc efi with megasquirt in a lightweight 91 Indy 650 asphalt sled only. Garrett gt3076r. From what I have been reading, the oil injection pump will work to supply lube to a ball bearing turbo. But what if the oil tank is below the pump. Will the pump suck uphill?

Trick is getting the air out. When you first start the sled you have to choke the turbo off, or hold the wheel with a glove. It can get hot. We put a small chunk of clear line right before the turbo so you could see oil movement and air bubbles. Have not had any problems with it back draining so far.

I think that only applies if you are injecting the oil into the intake stream? If its just running through that wont work i dont think

I don't understand what you are saying?

We have ran it that way on a Doo for a couple years. I am considering going to a Garret just so I can do the same. Never have to worry about oil pump going out or electrical problems.

I think if possible I would run all three together. You may want to refer to Bryce or Gus on that question. You won't see enough pressure to measure it. It's a slow, slow flow.

My 09 m8 is done that way I still feed the center wp shaft and 2 lines into one for the turbo. To start with I disconnected the line from the pump to the turbo at the turbo a funnel with a peace of hose hooked to the turbo fill funnel with oil start your motor as soon as the oil hit the line hook it up done.

What capacity tank is recommended? Is a quart enough? I know the oil will be getting whipped up.

Also, do you leave the pump lever in stock position and feed more oil with throttle? Or wire it wide open?
