Oil in turbo

Replacing some bearings tonight along with some other small maintenance items and ran across this. Pulled the intake off of the turbo side and had this puddle sitting there. With the angle of the turbo, it has to be blowing it through pretty hard. Maybe the blow off valve is not working correctly, its spinning the turbo backwards and the pressure is pushing it out? Seals? There is also a small amount in the intercooler, a light film. Turbo is the 2860, the last time I ran it was 12-14 lbs. Any help is appreciated

If your oil is too thick, or its extremely cold it will cause some what you are seeing. Pull your oil supply line and start the sled, let the line piss in an oil jug and see how much is spraying... should only be a very small pin spray.

my nytro started to do this when i damaged my pistons, blow-by was pressuring the drain side of the turbo up...

Ah sh!t that doesn't sound good, lets hope that isn't the case here.

Thanks guys I will start to check some of the small stuff

my apex did the same thing, im running a synergy kit on a 08 apex with big boost, it ended up being the return line was goin up instead of straight down, there is no pressure with the return line its gravity fed, and thin oil is needed or you will blow out the seals in the turbo, most of these series of turbos will leave a thin residue of oil threw the charge tube and intake thats normal, just not the big puddles.

Some oil is gonna be normal. Even if you have a good return line, all it takes if for you to roll your sled a couple times and you could have as much as even a small puddle. These ball bearing turbos are not good at keeping oil out of the charge tube if they are on their side. That residual oil will stay in the intake/charge tube for a long while.

Oil in charge tube

1 Make sure you have a .030 orfice in the oil supply line
2 I changed out a 2860 and installed a 2871 on a customers apex. When it came time to install the drain line I found that the boondockers drain line ran up hill I made a custom drain line and the oil problem went away .

Yeah I noticed that the return line does run up a little back to the pump. Once the line gets back to the pump, it runs to the top side of it, is that correct?

I did check on the supply line, it is restricted.
