Oil in intake, good or bad?

After reading all of the seizing threads I took my hood off to try and see if I could see any air bubbles in the line. I didn't see any but did observe that there is left over oil residue in my intake. I checked the reservoir and it is evident that it has used a little oil. I only have 2 miles on the sled from short rides in in the neighborhood. Is the oil in the intake a good sign that I'm getting enough oil? Dealership did put 5 gallons of premix in the tank when I picked it up and did advise to fill it the rest of the way with premix.

I'm not sure about the injected sleds, but on carbureted sleds the intake will get a bunch of residue inside. I think its from the split second when the reed is closing, the primary compression blows out through the intake... I think...

I am thinking it is good news and I'm just paranoid as hell now. I will find out soon enough though

This is normal my 09 M8 had small amounts of oil in the air box whenever i would take it off. Something to do with the way a 2 stroke operates

X2 all of my M-series have had oil in the intake & my carb 05' snopro 800.

Not trying make anyone paranoid about air bubbles. It's just one more thing to check off your sled to make sure it is ready to ride, so you don't have a bunch of un needed down time.:face-icon-small-win
