Just to double check,,,, you only have to drill out the stator side oil passage not the pto side? It is already drilled out but is sending the oil to the out side bearing.

That's the PTO side that needs to be drilled. 
Yes pto side needs to be drilled, it also needs to be drilled at the correct angle to oil the outside bearing correctly.

I am not sure the angle exactly, Carls cycle did mine when I had them port the cases and jugs. I just remember seeing that it was not drilled straight down through, it was drilled toward the pto end.
I drilled them so it intercepted the existing passage from the oil line nipple.....yes, I said NIPPLE.
Chamfer all the holes so they collect more oil.
