Oil Consumption

Ok so my xp seems 2 be chuging down the oil and just dosent seem right i heard they did pretty good on oil it burned about half a container in one day of riding...LESS THAT 10 GAL OF FULE USED...how do i fix this

I've heard of some people who have adjusted or had the oil feed adjusted for them but haven't really heard how well it worked out. I've got an 08 XP along with several of my friends and they definitely go through a lot more oil than any other sled I've had. However I haven't heard of problems with the plugs fouling from it nor have I had a problem with my plugs fouling so I'm leaving well enough alone. I figure a few bucks extra for oil vs a piston or engine seizing is still cheap.

I am on my third Ski-doo. They all seem to be set very rich. I did some close measuring and *****ed to my dealer for quite a while. He even replaced the pump. All three sleds were using oil at about 20:1 ratio. My 05 Rev was the worst. Turned out to be using it at 16:1
I did all the tricks, spring on the return arm etc. Threw the factory setting book specs in the garbage and adjusted the cable as far as it would go.
That got me pretty close to 30:1. So then I bent the bracket some more to get more slack in the cable.
I am at about 40:1 now.

Over a half a gallon of oil on each tank of fuel is crazy. My buddy on his M7 used about a gallon to 4 tank fulls.

My 08XP was running last year at about 16-1 I used all of the adjustment in the cable and ran the rest of the year at 20-1. When my dealer did the updates this spring I asked that he adjust the pump and get it at list to 35-1. He made the adjustment and I rode last week and it looks like it is around 35-1. So there is a way to get it adjusted. I just can't tell you what he did.
