Oil change?

I just changed the oil on my Apex, drained the tank and the oil pan, didnt change the filter, it says to do it every second time or something like that in the manual. But anyways, it says to put in 3u.s. quarts, so I did and then after running it for a few minutes, then let it settle for a few minutes I checked the oil level without screwing in the dipstick, and it is just below the low line? How much is it suppose to take?
 
Oil Filter Relocation Kit

Anyone here installed the Ullmer filter relocation kit?

Changed my oil for the first time yesterday (2012 Apex) and don't plan on going through that very often. I think it's crazy to remove the battery to get to the filter.

When I drained the oil tank it sure made a mess. Surprised there wasn't a hole in the cowling to collect it in one place.

Anyone have any tricks for doing that in a cleaner fashion? I don't see how a person could get a funnel in there unless you made a hole in the belly pan for it to exit through?

The good news was I found one of the four intake plenum rubber hoses had been folded over and not installed correctly. Probably when they hooked the battery up at the dealer.

From the size of the battery holder it looks like the battery has been downsized?
 
Embarassed

I'm embarassed to admit that the panel under the dry sump oil tank near the chaincase is removeable and you don't have to end up with oil all over the inside of the belly pan.

Got it all cleaned up when I moved it outside to start it after the oil change, prior to putting it away.

Looks like the panel comes off on both sides.

Too bad they didn't make some trick like that on the oil filter from below.

I'll say this though, 3.2 qts. but really hard to see on the dipstick after you change it.
 
From the size of the battery holder it looks like the battery has been downsized?

They use the same battery holder as the Vector's/Ventures use and they have bigger batteries. There should be a piece of foam in the plastic battery cover to take up the extra room.
