Oil cap leaks out vent holes...

Does your oil cap leak out the vent holes? I hear a stopper rattling around in mine but it's not working from preventing the leaking with the sled upside down (yeah, yeah, keep it upright LOL). Do I have a defective cap or do they all do this and is there another option if so?

Thanks,

G

Had the cap warrantied.

Problem solved....for a while.... leak came back.

Teflon taped the cap, no more issues.

2300+ miles on sled.

Mine went through the clutch has a big hole in the under side of the vent
it still doesn't leak.

Oh by the way it's not a good idea to get in a hurry and fill with oil while running.:nono: It can get exciting.

You should consider yourself lucky , for a while they had caps that didn't breath very well and guys where cutting them open with knives. The rattle is normal . Their to cheap to put a check valve on the oil tank , your just going to have to wipe it up after a roll over .:face-icon-small-hap or you could get creative and put a dirt bike gas cap with a check valve on it ? Might be the next big accessory pitch

I will add.. Polaris did do some thinkin on where the leaking oil is going to go!!

My panel was soaked, and running down the Brace.. to the front.. Belly pan Soaked!

Clutches were DRY and OIL FREE!!

Oil Cap New. also.. Just Tight Not Over tight!! Helps Big time!

I have to disagree - the oil drips right onto the spare belt if you use the holder under the hood.

The oil is definitely coming from the vent holes and NOT the threads (even bought one of those mouth opening inserts). So... what you all are telling me is that I'll have leaking no matter what with the Polaris vented cap?

Cheers,

G

$hit. We can't get the vent to open often enough on the RAW chassis sleds.
