Odd Stuck problem.....

I just got a TS kit on a 2012 KX450, rode similar unit in Fernie last year, thought it was great, dropped the $$ on new setup and Sled for sale. Finally took out Bike on the flatland(Sask) and had a terrible day.....everytime I went into any amount of snow, the ski would just submarine and I would get stuck, or vice versa, ski would ride on top and track would bury itself! Thought this was odd, as in the mountains I had a hard time getting the thing stuck!! Is there some suspension setup I need to do on the skid or forks? Or was it just a bad combination of powdery snow with no bottom? I do have the new ski/skag.......P.S. sleds had no problem getting around.
Any input is greatly appreciated.....

riding in low depth fluffy snow with no base they just dont work good. the carbide just digs in and your track has no real snow to push on. once there is enough snow that the weight of the fork/ski is riding on packed snow on the whole bottom of the ski, sweet. in anything less its scary and not fun.

If you have no real base to speak of then the bike will have a harder time. Sleds will suffer from the same problem but they have the HP and track flotation to better overcome the issue (although when you get stuck, you are REALLY stuck). Once the snow establishes a seasonal base you will be golden.

Thanks guys, ya I found in a hurry that low snow is bad, carbided hooked a rock stopped me dead and just stuck on an inch of snow! Guess I'll wait for another dump, or load it up and head to the hills!

What he said! super fluff looks awesome on top but it makes for some crap riding as well as burning a boat load of fuel!

On the flip side if your ski bottom gets packed with ice and or mud, this makes for some crap ridding as well!
