Octane Boost?

Hey Fellas....

Will be heading to Chatter Creek in April....don't want to haul fuel in. Wondering what the best option would be to ensure I use high octane fuel. They have 87 octane gas for purchase...should I take a good Octane Boost (if there is such a thing?) heard Torco was decent.....or would it be better to haul in a 5 gallon of 110 octane to mix??

Thanks for the advice!

I bought some crappy fuel from a local station when I was out of town riding. Not sure how often they got new fuel or if they are just selling regular at the premium price. Anyways my DET sensor was going off all day. I bought some AV gas and mixed 2 gallons into the tank, and used the same fuel in the same riding area the next weekend. No DET. This is a cheaper alternative to race gas and octane boost IMO.

Klotz

For what it is worth...Im running Klotz octane booster with my 800 poo and a PA head. More as insurance but 91 octane is supposed to be the minimum and i would prefer it to be higher. If you buy it by the gallon its only around 60$ and it should last you many many tanks. Never seen my DET light on with a 13.6 head and 91+klotz @8-10k altitude. Supposed to raise your octane by up to 10 numbers (not points!) depending on your mix. Depending on how much you will be riding you would have to mix quite a bit of 110av in to make a difference really... 10 gals 87 to 1 gal 110 only gets you up to 89 octane... 2 and 9 would get you up over 91... I suppose it just comes down to how much you want to carry, and what works. I would honestly feel a little more comfortable with blending two different octane fuels.
(even though i use the octane booster, im not 100% sold on how well it works, Im starting with a 91 octane fuel anyway...)
