Obama's grandmother is a "typical white person"

"Well, you know, she was extremely proud and the point I was making was not that my grandmother harbors any racial animosity. She doesn't. But she is a typical white person who, you know, if she sees somebody on the street that she doesn't know, you know, there's a reaction that's been bred into our experiences that don't go away and that sometimes come out in the wrong way. And that's just the nature of race in our society. We have to break through it and what makes me optimistic is you see each generation feeling a little bit less like that."

WTF is wrong with this? Suppose someone said "the typical black person", they would be burned at the stake.

It's funny how one word (typical) can make an otherwise legitimate statement offensive.

Don't be so sensetive people.
I am sick and ****ing tired of this political correctness bull ****!
Say what you mean, take it for what it's worth & move on. If you don't like how it sounds....ask what was meant, instead of letting the media tell us how to interpret someones statements!

A "Typical" white man likes the NFL & March Madness
A "Typical" woman like a touching chick flick
A "Typical" snowmobiler is Republican
A "Typical" black person enjoys chicken

SO WHAT?!!!!!!
But you should never make these statements in public!!!!!!

THAT'S the problem. When someone says something this dumb when running for president imagine what they could say if he became president.

PS and it's watermelon NOT chicken

Mafesto, you are a March Madness liking, chick flick watching, chicken eating multi-colored Republican snowmobiler. :face-icon-small-hap

I thought that was one of the things like "Nate enjoys sheep"?:rolleyes:

It's BOTH....

What I find interesting about Obama, is he was one of the people demanding that Imos be fired for calling the girls nappy headed hoes, yet he refuses to denounce his "spiritual" adviser who is a racist, hate monger.
He just can't fathom why people would be offended.
Yea, I want him as my leader..............NOT.

You can tell a lot about a person and their beliefs by the company they keep.

well said ollie, but it can't compare with the return of Looter Guy!!!

Man I bet he's been on more threads then Andy.

Many of you know from my past posts that I'm a fairly strong Republican.

That being said, I just don't think McCain is qualified for the job.
I'm not sure I can explain what I meant by that statement, other than I do not see him bringing anything worthwhile to the table. I see him bringing 4 more years of status quo, which in many aspects is a severe decline. A declination many of us cannot weather.

I cannot vote for Hildabeast under ANY circumstances.
I resent her & her husband too strongly to even consider the notion.

I desperately wanted Huckabee to be the Republican nominee.
Well, that wasn't meant to be.......this time.

My hope now lies in Obama.
More so in what he stands for rather than any of his individual plans or ideas.
To say he is a uniter, not a divider seems cliche', but I believe in that message.
We continue to become more divided as a country, and I frankly think it is making us weak to the point of vulnerability.
Status quo is political party comes before country as a whole, and that self destructive mindset has brought us to unimaginable news lows.
I honestly believe Barack wants to lead us in a different direction.
The question is....How many of us are willing to follow?

Perhaps my views are naive & idealistic? Well, the answer to that question is in our own hands.

This is going to sound really bad, but..................................

It doesn't matter who is elected. Hillary, Obama or McCain, this country has been so polarized the last 4 years I think who ever is elected there will be an assasination.
At least an attempt. If it is McCain, then a liberal nutjob will go after him. If it is Hillary or Obama, then a super conservative nutjob will go after them.

The republicans and Democrats have been pushing their followers to hate the other. The dems have portrayed the republicans as war mongering world destroyers and tHe republicans have been protraying the democrats as cowards who would destroy the country with their liberal ways.

As to Obama himself.
He thinks we should surrender and run from Iraq.
He thinks the US should give much more money to developing countries and learn to live at a lower standard (I.e, raise your taxes by 20-30%, his words).
He thinks we should remove the boarders with Canada and Mexico and allow anyone who wants to come to this country do it with no restrictions.

I think Obama is going to be REALLY bad for this country.
If he was a little more interested in protecting THIS country, and a little more interested in bringing this country back to it's values that made this country great, i would prob. vote for him.

Personally, I think he is more interested in making the US the whipping boy for every other country in the world.

I've been following the race from the get-go, and I really haven't seen anything that back up your statements.

I agree. If I was in the same room with any of them I would not stand to close!Especially Obama, and Hillary .this country is still not ready for a blackman as president particularly one like Obama who brings so much racial Baggage whether it real ot not that's the perception, and Hillary is such a repulsive elitist it sickens me to hear her speak!Mccain is not the answer either but at least he earned the right to be where he is unlike the others who are typical dems that have Never worked a day in their life and claim they Know what the common man and woman needs .
