OK so I got this email today and couldn't find it here anywhere yet so I decided to post it. So are we going to have the first non US citizen be our president???

What U.S. citizen would not be willing to ow his birth certificate?

Wow...wouldn't this cause a fire storm if true?

The following is an article from the July 7, 2008, issue #27 from "The American Free Press" Newspaper, an article by Assistant editor, Pat Shannon.

"It now appears that Barack Obama is constitutionally ineligible for the office of president. John McCain's eligibility was established in 1964, when courts ruled Sen. Barry Goldwater was eligible although he was born in Arizona when it was a territory, not a state. McCain was born in the Panama Canal Zone when it was a U.S. territory.

And, even as the controlled media continues to ignore the ineligibility of Obama, it will not go away. While few doubt that the Democrats will manage to pull off his nomination, all remain poised to view the legal performance.

The first hurdle will be having Obama produce his birth certificate, which so far he has refused to do, and prove that he was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961, as he has always claimed. There is speculation that his American mother may have brought him to Honolulu shortly after his birth in Kenya , but no proof of that has been shown.

According to the law on the books at the time of Obama's birth, the office of president requires that a candidate be a natural citizen if the child was not born to two U.S. citizen parents. Since he was not, should it be proven that at Obama was not born in Hawaii , as claimed, he is ineligible without further debate. But assuring that he was born there, he has another problem.

According to a legal researcher who has contacted the AFP, U.S. law very clearly states: "If only one parent is a U.S. citizen at the time of one's birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for a minimum of 10 years, five of which must be after the age of 16." And therein lies Obama's new problem.

Barack Obama's father was never a U.S. citizen.

Interestingly, there isn't much paperwork on the marriage of Obama's parents, and this has a few researchers speculating that it never took place at all. On page 27 of "Obama: From Promise to Power", David Mendell writes: "Obama later confessed that he never searched for the government documents on the marriage, although Madelyn (Obama's maternal grandmother) insisted they were legally married." He also notes that Obama's father apparently was not legally divorced from his first wife back in Kenya at the time, a point of contention that ultimately led to their separation.
This also would suggest that there may never have been any legal marriage by Obama's parents at all, but the Constitution does not ban an illegitimate child from the White House, as long as he was born inside the U.S.

Obama's mother was born in Kansas and was only 18 when Obama was born. This means even though she satisfied the citizen requirement for 10 years, she was not a citizen for at least five years prior to Obama's birth. In essence, the mother alone is not old enough to qualify her son for automatic U.S. citizenship. At most, two years elapsed from his mother turning 16 to the time of Barack Obama's birth when she was 18. His mother would have needed to have been 16 + 5 = 21 years old at the time of Barack Obama's birth for him to be a natural-born citizen. Barack Obama was already three years old at the time his mother turned 21.

Technically, Obama should have been naturalized as a citizen, but that, of course, would disqualify him from holding the office of president. If the allegations are accurate, America could install in January of 2009 a new president who is not even a U.S. citizen, neither born nor naturalized.

It should be demanded that Obama produce his 1961 Hawaiian birth certificate.

If he cannot satisfactorily do so, he should be deemed immediately ineligible to hold the office of president."

Please pass this on to everyone you know.

Yes Marcuso, the McCain one is true, but I'd dare anyone to hold that against him. Two US citizens, on assignment to a US military installation overseas. Sorry, but that makes McCain more American than any of us. Try to find a court that will touch it.

The snopes article misses one point, was he actually born in Hawaii? If he was, I say it's a technicality and not worth worrying about. But, if he was born in Kenya, and then the birth certificate falsified, then he's got a problem. But, again, try to find a court that would touch it. Unless there was a deliberate cover up. Personally, I'd just forget about this line of reasoning. But,

(Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania – 09/04/08) - Philip J. Berg, Esquire, the Attorney who filed suit against Barack H. Obama challenging Senator Obama’s eligibility to serve as President of the United States, has received confirmation from his Process Service Company that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and Senator Barack Obama were served today, September 4, 2008, with the legal documents pertaining to Berg vs. Obama, Civil Action No. 08-cv-4083.

The DNC was served at 12:00 p.m. and Senator Obama was served at 1:00 p.m. The U.S. Attorney’s Office accepted service on behalf of the Federal Elections Committee (FEC) on or about August 22, 2008.

Berg filed this suit for the best interests of the Democratic Party and the citizens of the United State... The suite states that Senator Obama:

* Is not a natural-born citizen; and/or
* Lost his citizenship when he was adopted in Indonesia; and/or
* Has dual loyalties because of his citizenship with Kenya and Indonesia.

Numerous questions raised about Obama’s background have no satisfactory answers:

* Where was Obama born? Hawaii; an island off of Hawaii; Kenya; Canada?
* School records list Obama as a citizen of Indonesia. Was he a citizen of Kenya, Indonesia and/or Canada?
* Explanation of the names he has used: Barack Obama, Barry Soetoro, Barry Obama, Barack Dunham, & Barry Dunham.
* Illinois Bar Application – Obama fails to acknowledge use of names other than Barack Hussein Obama, a blatant lie.

Seems like a bite of a witch hunt to me. Actually, I'd like to know if Obama can verify he is who he says he is. Can he verify his whereabouts at every point in his life. Maybe a commie spy replaced the real Obama. :)

I don't understand Obamas position on this. If there is questions concerning his birth certificate why now show who ever wants to see it and squash any rumors. Unless there is a problem with it and you don't want anyone to know. Hmmmmm

OK so maybe it isn't true.

My new question (well I have had this question for a while but never asked anyone about it) is, why is snopes supposed to be the sources for whether or not something it true or false? Isn't it just another internet site? Who runs snopes anyway? I am not trying to cause a fight or anything, these are real questions that I have. I just don't know how snopes got to be the ruler over what is true and false.

Shouldn't you try to snope this? LMAO

Those are excellent questions. My partial answer is that they are not the ruler, they are the researcher.... They show their references, (yes I love that word...) and seem to draw realistic conclusions from sources. In the end, it needs to pass your test for what seems reasonable.

Maybe I am wrong, but wouldn't it be easly to make up a birth certificate from anywhere and put it in the internet? I can get a fake driver's license to any state over EBAY and put a picture of it on the internet as well.

I looked at snoops today and found out that it is a liberal based site. Sooo that being said are they reporting all the information or just what they want to. It would be nice to get the facts all the facts. To make an informed choice. What a concept!!!:(

Yeah I guess I should have snoped this. LOL :)

Thanks for the answer. It's just that I always hear people say that snopes said this and snopes said that so it must be true.

Care to explain as to how you came to that determination? Just curious.....

I just had done a google search and there was a blurb about it being Liberal based but I just now went back to find it and I can't get it to show up. Maybe spelling. I will look further. My bad maybe!
I found it but it is snoops.com. Sorry for the misinformation. Wrong Website
