Obama wants to limit Sleds in Yellowstone

Don't kill me for this as it is just a thought. What is a deal could be made that close Yellowstone park to snowmobiles as long as no further closures could be made in all of the 50 states? Seems that would be a fair trade off.

If they would only stop at Yellowstone... but they won't. They are just reducing the area a little at a time tell its not even worth buying a sled. And then they will target another recreational activity. Nothing makes them happy.. More is always wanted. Some critter is always endangered.

Fair trade? Sure if you're not a business person living in West Yellowstone.

We know that wouldn't be an acceptable compromise to the government.

Sitting back reading all this, also listening to the bogus health care plans, spending money like it's being printed for him, whoops it is. Makes me chuckle that so many people thought he was going to do some good. What were those voters of Obama thinking?

You have to realize when you allow big government to outlaw some one else's version of pornography...Someday they will be coming after your version. Just look at Hitler. I would not write off West Yellowstone because you live in Minnesota. Cancer grows.

exactly. cancer is the best description of government i can think of. the logic of the above post and most peoples' unwillingness to do anything until it is their favorite spot is the reason we are loosing. it is NEVER acceptable to close another area, regardless of the "compromise", it is ALWAYS a net loss to us. i could go on and on, and on but we have all heard it and i don't have the energy today... (doesn't this make me part of the problem?...)

They will not stop till we are gone.
First to go will be the National Parks, then National Forests, then State Parks, then State forests and so on.

I grew up on the biggest lake in MN. The state took over the swimming beach and campgrounds and now we have no free access. The beach closes at 10:00, no drinking, limited number of people in the campground

Now I'm mad.

In my opinion we lost west Yellowstone a long time ago :( what fun is i anymore to follow a guide and group. might as well just be driven around in a snow coach and drink beer why its warm  What they don't understand is they keep taking away and there wont be any place left. people aren't going to put up with it and they wont have enough enforcement people to control the illegal riding

In MN it is illegal to drive ATV's in wetlands
1st offence lose your ATV privileges for one year
2nd offence lose your ATV

I'm sure they would have no problem taking your snowmobile

The problem with your logic, is you assume there's one crazy greenie organization, that rules them all. There's litterally hundreds of independant groups. You could make peace with all of them, and another one would pop up tomorrow; and claim you never struck a deal with them. There will always be some extreme group, that will oppose you, no matter what you do.

And speaking from experience, at a closure meeting, you will find someone that doesn't give a dang about Yellowstone, but wants this one mountain closed near his hometown, because he wants it for himself. They opened up the floor for closure recommendations once, and by the time it was over, ever single mountain was on the list. You will never find a square inch of land, that some crazy idiot isn't willing to throw himself in front of a bulldozer to "protect".

Some of the skiers that use Yellowstone, hate us, but are more afraid of the crazy "close everything" groups. These groups have openly stated that they want no human feet to touch the ground in Yellowstone. Even to the point of putting in a monorail, high in the trees, with elevated viewing platforms. That's how crazy they are. I used to have a link to their website.

that was the same thing the indians thought years ago and if you believe history teachers it will repeat itself.
that is also why the nra doesnt want them to ban fully auto weapons. If you let it go they will just move to the next thing.

These green idiots always follow the buck, you can bet on that.
Where is that dollar, anyway...have you seen it?:)

OK. Greater Yellowstone Coalition.
$6 Million in the bank.
$3.6 million taken in every year, from donors, and fund raising.

What could SAWS do with that kind of money? A lot.
