Obama to address school childeren

Obama is going to give a speach to school childeren. I don't think this is a good idea. Anybody have any thoughts. All I can think of is indocrination..... uggg.

Wait till you see what teachers are supposed to do to get the kids to commit to helping Obama. I posted it this morning with the text from the worksheets they're supposed to use to brainwash the kids. It's freaky. It's in the political thread.

I'm saddened as to what has happened in the teaching profession.

When I was a college student, early 1960's, instructors I had would not give their political opinions, since it was not considered appropriate for teachers to do so.

In the "teacher ed" classes I took, basically "how to teach", we were told by our instructors/teachers to keep personal opinions and preferences out of the classroom.

Somewhere along the line,late '60's 1970's, 1980's, perhaps things changed. Now that I reflect on it, I think the "agenda" started with the Lyndon Johnson administration.

I think most on here know I'm retired from teaching electronics in a 2-year technical/community college.

The scary thing, is that, looking at the worksheet the teachers are supposed to use I posted on the other thread, it's not just that one day.

They carry it out for the rest of the school year having the kids do art projects and letters, etc., to focus on their "goals" of how to "help" Obama.

Well, I guarantee that wont happen at the school where i teach!! If a teacher did this in his/her classroom, all hell would break loose in this little town. We had one guy, a obamalovin gov't teacher, last year impose his messed up views on a class, and he didn't get his contract back. The community pretty much ran his butt out of town.

I can't believe that some teachers think they can push their personal views and agendas on students. We are here to teach, to hopefully give the kids the tools that allow them to decide and think for themselves, not to tell them how to think. Scary the direction we are heading right now. It's no wonder teachers are perceived as they are. Kind of embarrassing actually.

Yep about threw up when I saw that story. More reason as to why my kids will be in a charter school soon. SLC is becoming a libs paradise. Glad I live down in Happy Valley.
