Whether you like the guy's ideas or not. You have to hand it to him for being transparent. I was never a fan, but he is growing me. I dont agree with many of his ideas or approach to turning around the economy. You have to respect him for being open and honest though.

I wish our PM would take some notes. I think Harper is awesome, but THIS is the type of stuff he needs to be doing.

really.....transparent. he hasnt done anything different than others. he said we could look at the bills before he signed them......hasnt happened.
he has a tough road ahead of him bu i dont see any transparencies. unless you count the looking backwards monday morning quarterback stuff about gotmo and interrigation

What would I do if I was president?

I would have my favorite bands play at the white house, I would go to basketball games to sit in the front row, I would build a basketball court out back of the white house...

Other than his liberalism, the guy is living every kids dream of being president! I know other than his liberalism, obviously, I'd be in there doing the exact same "common folks" stuff that he is.

WTF are you talking about. Yha, he knows how to say sorry, a lot.

Where's his birth certificate? Where's his college entrance papers? What's with all the old friends, the socialist bunch? Why doesn't he promote hard work, and living within your means, rather than free money and government ownership of businesses? Why can't he even submit a candidate for that's not a devout communist or a tax cheat? Why is it, that he just keeps telling us to trust him on health care, and that we can save money with it? Why can't he talk without a teleprompter? Look at the stimulus package that was passed, 1100 pages, and no time to read any of it. Look at the language, it's all pet projects, there's almost no money for infrastructure, that's what they promised, but only 30 of the 800 billion were from infrastructure. The guy is a con artist, nothing else. Ramrodding bad bills through congress, and at the rate he's going, he'll be the largest executive order president we ever had.

He's not transparent, he's dishing out fear mongering, to press his agenda.

Here's what transparent is:

Don't you watch the news??? (probably a good thing if you don't) We are getting "change" every day!!! I don't think he ever said it would be a change for the good did he? He does say that this "change" wont be easy or come overnight and that in the next 8-10 years we'll still be dealing with it, so he's giving himself something to brag about in 8-10 years when we are $800 trillion in debt....he predicted it and it's all Bush's fault.

Illegals are no longer illegal unless they break the law.??
We now take care of International peace keeping by video.
OUR land is being locked up.
Taxes are actually on a volunteer basis.

The list goes on....

Change - that's about all the dollar is worth.

I guess I should clarify my original post. I dont have the time (or interest) to follow your politics and ours. Im more interested in what is happening in my own country. The point I was trying to make I guess is the way Obama seems to stay connected to people through interviews and press conferences. He is opening himself up to questions in public forums. That is the aspect of his leadership I was praising. Wasnt wieghing in on the quality of responses he was giving. And like I said......I also disagree with a lot of his policies. (ie. tax and spend) I am the farthest thing from a liberal you will ever find in a fiscal sense.

The point I was trying to make was that our PM Stephan Harper is like the COMPLETE opposite of Obama. I love his policy, but his delivery sucks. If only he would open himself up more and communicate with the people he is representing. Like Obama or not.........you have to admit that he does this well.

Unfortunately, at least in the US, a Republican that opens himself up, will be slaughtered by the media. Obama can say just about anything, and not be hammered on the front page, in the morning.

He opens himself up to questions on the forum ? Yah, right, he has a preselected list of people with questions that that he has practiced his answers for . If he gets a hard quetion that he's not willing to answer truthfully he statrs talking around it and starts stammering. He's a great speaker when he looks into the teleprompter but not when he's looking you in the eye!!

Actually, the questions he takes at public meetings are pre-approved questions. He already knows what is going to be asked. There have been a couple that have slipped thru, but he just doesn't answer them.

The guy is truly a joke.
He is a good talker, but as has been pointed out before.
Hitler was a good speaker also.
