o5 m7 track rub

I have an 06 m7 that have the same DD as the 05 except 06 has a fill blug. And i have no rubbing issues what so ever. Are you sure something isnt broke, bent, twisted, Or track adjustment.

Yes, I've been hearing my track rubbing and was wondering whats causing it. I thought it was because my track was a little too loose but I adjusted it the other day and it still rubs. What do you mean by the dd is not smooth?

I've got an '05 M7 162 and have had A20, Cat Challenger and now PC tracks on it and haven't noticed any rubbing. I too am curious about the 'smooth' comment. haven't heard of this before.

rubbing

It does not happen all the time, but in a weird turns with suspension it seem that the track rubs on the dd on the inside of tunnel. If you looks at the dd there are grooves that are different from newer ones are shiny and smooth to just role over...:D

On my '05 M7 (challenger track), the track clips click on the rails where they make contact in the front, and at slower speeds it creates a vibration I feel in the running boards, thought for the longest time I was loosing my Diamond Drive until I pulled it/put new seals in it, it was fine. Put it on the trackstand and noticed the clips clicking, maybe that's what your feeling?

I just put a new camo-extreme on my sled. I had to grind down every single drive lug on the left hand side of the track (inside). The lugs and clips were contacting the diamond drive case.

mine was rubbing here....

Correct, that is where the rub is. I don't understand how the drive lugs could ever come in contact with the dd case:confused:

The way I fixed mine is to drill new holes above the rib and back at a 45 degree so the rod anchors on the top half of the rail. No problems since.

I've got the same sort of thing happening (I think) where it is rubbing on that front axle. It only does it when the front of the skid collapses down. Usually when I hit a bump and I am NOT on the gas. Started doing it after I put on the front arm relocation kit. Perhaps I need to tighten up the track even more ?

I've got the same sort of thing happening (I think) where it is rubbing on that front axle as Snowmark pointed out. It only does it when the front of the skid collapses down. Usually when I hit a bump and I am NOT on the gas. Started doing it after I put on the front arm relocation kit. Perhaps I need to tighten up the track even more ? I did put on NEW hifax also when it started doing it.

Mine makes the same noise/vibration just after the relocation bracket was installed. I was thinking it was rubbing on the front rail caps since it only did it at slow speeds and when the front susp. collapsed.
