o1 runs cuts out in powder

When running in deep snow the snow gets sucked behind the windshield and sticks to the vents. I have to stop and clean the foam frequently or the sled runs like crap!!! What can i do to fix this. We drive 12hrs to ride in the pow and then can't !!!! Surely somebody has a solution for this:rolleyes:

You can put prefilter material over the intake. Some company use to make premade covers for the foam filters But I cant remember who it was. Also on the hood there is a Black Shelf that makes contact with the Airbox when the hood is closed. On this shelf there is two rubber plugs you can remove. Some guys were removing the plugs so they could get more air when operating in deep snow. Its warm Air But its better than nothing. And SLP sells the prefilter material.

Install the prefilter material and then remove the windshield. It is a little colder on the trail but the snow does not build up near as bad on the filters, and when it does it is 100 times easier to brush off.:D:D

Thanks for the info guys. I figured there was somethng I cold do. The windshield idea sounds good as long as the wind isn't blowing 60mph like it does whenever we plan a trip to the snowies:(
Any mods i can do that would give me a little extra? Thinking of dropping gear from 21-43 to 20-43.Or should I go to 19-43? Has anyone ported the track on these older sleds? wondered if it was worth the effort. I cringe when I think about putting holes in the track!! Thanks again
