took first ride on nytro and have a couple questions?? sled pulls between 7-9 pds boost and 39 mph before it falls flat on her face. she flattens right out and that's as fast as she runs. is this clutch related, or a boost leak somewhere?? clutching is below
purple cat spring
14.5 mm rollers
bl/wh/bl spring
8bu.00 weights with 9 g rivots.
shockwave helix.

is there anything in setup you guys have done??

I dunno, waaaay to radical a problem to be a secondary adjustment, if you were on the limiter you would have 14lbs boost or more
I would say you have a major leak
go to a plumbing store and get a 60mm plug and make a fitting, pull your filter and put put 10lbs air pressure in and listen for where it comes out
This is 2 bux and answers a big question

What RPM does it fall flat?? I had mine fall on it's face the first ride out at 5500 rpm but after the reflash on the MCX ECU box that fixed all my problems as it was just a update they had.

Personally, i thought it was a boost leak. It almost seems exactly as my apex when my throttle bodies were dislodged. but my mehanic thought clutching. the kit also is a couple months old(sitting at dealers waiting to be sold) so it could need reflashing.
after we got back into the mountain, I noticed the shockwave was adjusted all the way in, after getting back to the truck I did some testing as I didnt' have any tools back in the mountain. after adjusting the shockwave, it helped some on the bottom end, but still fell flat at 7-9 pds boost and 39 mph. I'm hopoing between boost leak, and possilbe reflash will solve the problem and get her running good before I put her away for the year. I'll keep you posted. thanx for the replies.

sounds like a leak, what rpm, check for exhaust leak as well, I found mine was leaking between the flange were it bolts to the turbo. your clutcing would not due that. as said pressure test everything.

It AIN'T clutching I can barley keep mine @ 14 lbs cept for 1 time in revy where it ran 12...Has any one fooled with the waste gate rod???? If that is factory then you have a leak somewhere:(

I'm going to send the box out today to get reflashed and do a leakdown test on it. I know it's going to be a simple little fix, just a matter of finding it.

Most likely not the solution to your existing problem...but something you'll want to fix before your next ride out.

I have the same clutching setup and have my wastegate rod set at 12lbs. The shockwave helix turned all the way in (completely tight) will be a 40* helix. You'll want to run with those clutching specs between 46-52 depending on snow. I run mine at 51* for the spring like conditions we have now, and 47* or so when in the deep stuff.

The way to tell what your helix is set at is quite easy. Turn it all the way in or tight. Each full turn is 4* from a starting point of 40*. So 2.5 turns out would be 50*. Try and see how it runs with that and tune from there.

Could maybe be your problem now that I'm thinking about it. What were your RPMS when hitting 39mph?

I didnt' even think to look at rpm's. too frustrated trying to diagnose the problem. had low coolant that i had to stop 3 times for and let cool enough to pop the rad cap. I know rpm's would have prob been in the mid range from how the sled ran. I'm sure they dropped right off. sending box in for reflash tomorrow, and try and do a leak down test. thanx for the replies

Sounds like your box is not sensing boost. Pinched line?

ya know, i'm half thinking that too. it feels like it's building boost, but not as hard as my apex. I'm hoping it's an easy fix. hope the shipping company don't lose my nytro box like they did with my apex box. it ended up in vancouver, not prince george.

My money is on the reflash after that it will be spot on no need for another box the MCX box will work just fine if not it's a leak or something else is up.

if its not sensing boost it will fall on its face and pop when the boost comes on due to not enough fuel,

hey man that exat thing happened to me first ride out when it was new.....would run strong to about 5-7psi then is would fall on its face so hard I near went over the handle bars....turned out the line was pinched to the map sensor....worked fine after that.....Is it wired up correct....

sled is at willy's right now. I will call him today and get him to check it.

well, found the problem today. the power wire plugging into the mcx box was loose in the plastic piece. once we found this out, she ran like a raped ape. I've never seen dust like that.lol buddy has a gravel back alley, and I ran it down and back just to make sure. apparently a neighbor didnt' like this and reported us to the cops.
