The bolt that Eric was talking about looks fine. It started getting tough to put in reverse at the start of the season. It would take some wiggling of the chassis. Now it won't move under any circumstances. Any ideas?
Do you store your sled in warm place after ridding. I have had mine freeze up a couple of times this year. It freezes where the handle slide out to pull it in reverse.
lube up the sliding shaft on the handle area, helps ALOT. also, if it wont go into reverse easily, tap the gas slightly to change the gear position alittle, and then try to put it into reverse. sometimes the gears dont mesh right and it needs alittle help. ski
This might not be the cause, but it certainly could be effecting it.. When you kick snow on your running board towards the front, it is possible to bend the sheet metal in, so that it conflicts with the reverse shifting linkage. I noticed a reduced ability to get the sled into reverse with the plate bent in. There are also times where I need to give the sled some gas and get the track and chain case in a more neutral position before it will shift....

I agree with this. The 09 sleds come with a little hole cut into the sheet metal along with a bend that allows the shift linkage to move without hitting anything. its caused from the poor designed boards. If it is hitting just reach in there with your favorite die grinder and make a notch a little quarter sized notch.
My Nytro was a little tough to get into reverse too. I just rocked it forward a little bit instead of giving it a shot of gas...........worked every time for me.
I noticed that my lever would hit the sheet metal also, instead of notching
the sheet metal you can just bend the shift lever forward. Since doing this it never hits any more.
