Nytro starter burned up

I have a new SC nytro and burned a starter up today, Got the starter out and it is froze up, no movement at all. Has any one else had a problem like this?

Somebody crank on it for too long ? Mine always fires right up .

they do fail some times but its not normal you dont here of to many 4strokes ever having starter probs

Take it to the dealer and get it warranty.... my 03 fires right up still.

Check your starter solenoid (actually, replace it... they're cheap). They can stick ON....and when they do the starter keeps running after the engine starts.
A few RX's had this problem. Have you ever replaced the main fuse?

A guy was into the Yamaha dealer in Sandpoint today with a SC Nitro with the same problem. If you want me to check I can try to find out what they came up with.

I was in there today BSing with the guys at the yamaha shop about your sled! haha...I was in there getting some new goggles and wandered into the back to ask about my trenching problem.

Nice sled BTW...I really like the yellow and white look of it

BINGO.

I've witnessed this first hand myself. The solenoid Yami uses is not so good. We are going to replace ours with something more robust. When the solenoid goes it takes the starter with it. If you open up your starter it'll be all melted in there.

It weld the starter into one piece on the inside, maybe it was not designed to turn that fast LOL! I will keep my eyes and ears open for it if it decides to try it again.

Well hope to have my new starter installed today in time to tear up some of this powder, once you ride one of these high HP sled, going back does not feel right. I have tainted my soul with boost!

Ya powers the only way to go now!!!My top pully came off the other day and I had to ride my nytro stock for the rest of the day.It's not bad stock but boost sure makes it come alive.No going back to stock form for me even if I have a few problems along the way.
