Nytro Skid Plate Question

I just got done installing the 'yamaha' skid plate and am wondering why or if there is a need for the 'stock' engine skid plate?
...Which just got me thinking that for a scenario where a sump or rock hits right in the center of the plate, it could possibly bounce and bend the skid plate up and into the oil filter....

Anyone not running the stock cover deal under the skid plate? Going to be a pita to get all that sandwiched together it feels like..

i looked again, and the ribs are plenty tough in this skid plate i'm puting on, i can't see it bending...if it bends it that bad....i'm bound to have other issues?

not gunna do it! save 1.72 lbs! ><

I run both.. the stock plate kind of holds the lower side plastics on too. It is a pia sometime getting it all to line up, but it is not too bad.

run em both Rotax. I was in Revy on June 27th and hit a rock. Dented the front of the subframe just a bit then rolled under the skid plate and had enough force to put a small dent in my oil filter. Without the ribbed plate I am sure the oil filter would have been torn off. Better safe than sorry bro.
