Here's the latest from Mountaintech. Direct replacement for the OEM piece of plastic that is supposed to protect your engine sump/front heat exchanger......you know the one that's held on with 5 plastic push pins!! The shorty skid plate mounts to the OEM mounting positions with steel hardware that's recessed and replaceable...no rivnuts here. Best on the planet. When you see it on the website it will be available for sale. Price TBA. Color matt black.

So what are the advantages of going with this skid plate vs the one that you have been selling the last few seasons?

I will be offering both so this one is not meant to replace my full length version. A few people had expressed concern about snow build up between the A arm mounting points with my full length version. There are some people who don't thaw out their sleds between riding days and they may accumulate some ice up front. The new short version fits exactly like the OEM plastic piece....only it's properly fastened so you won't lose it. IMO the full length one offers the best protection, but different strokes for different folks. As far as colors are concerned, black is the most popular at about 99% of sales. I have done a few Yamaha blue in the past, may do some short ones in blue as well. My Yamaha primary clutch grunt tool is almost ready as well. It will allow you to service your own clutch without having to take it to a dealer/shop.

Hey Roest
upon request would you be willing to send out unfinished ones if someone like myself who doesnt like blue or black wanted to have it powder coated red or white. have you figured out the price of the shorty yet?

I'll put aside an unfinished one for you. They will be $139.00.

I have the long one on my sled. One of the best bolt on mods I've done. No more worrying about hitting a rock and wrecking stuff. Plus Roest's customer service is second to none.
