Nytro service bulletin SO8-008

I went to my dealer yesterday to have them run a unit staus report on my sled. One of the bulletins that came up was this SO8-008=ALT COMP.Any idea what this is ? It also came up on my wifes 07 phazer printout.

You must have a dealer like most of the dealers around here. If they got a service bulletin about a nytro, they wouldn't be able to tell me what it was about either. I tried ordering some yamaha nytro hand guards (standard on the short tracks) and the parts boy said, "I don't know how to look those up."

Over on TY, they are talking about a bulletin relating to the ball joints.

I dont know for sure but the only thing that came up for the Nytro and the Phaser was the lower ball joints on the front suspension from my dealer

08 Nytro came up with Alt comp-lower ball joint-Main wire harness and Alt comp again under a different bulletin# 07 Phazer listed Alt comp-steering idler-lower ball joints-qa updates-Hard start and Ball joint nut retorque And your right they couldnt tell me what was what.

theres an update for the secondary clutch deflector plate which is suppose to stop your left foot from getting wet,,i installed mine and it made better but still sucks:mad:

I asked my dealer about the plate, they said there was no bulletin. I ordered up the plate anyways, damn last two rides have been nothing but swamp foot. Guess thats what happens when you ride 4ft of fresh for 30 miles. Should I be complaining?

Here is the skinny...

You should check with your deal that you bought your sled from! I live at sea level and own a 08 MTX. I went to my deal and told them I needed the setup for 0-5000 ft .I guess if you buy a MTX at 0-5000 ft Yamaha will send the dealer ship the setup for that elevation, At no charge! I got a new springs, gears, chain, and rivets for free! The only thing I didnt get were weights. My dealer found this out under Nytro MTX recalls! Its worth a try!

This is true. It's called altitude compensation, and there are 3 different setups, low, medium, and high. Not sure what they come from the factory with, but they will be able to get you all the parts for no charge, labor will cost you though.
