Nytro Risers..whats the trick?

What have you guys been doing for risers? I've seen the short 2" pivots added to the stock bars, didn't like that much. So i went with a Fly Pivot adaptor and fly 7" risers.

The issue is the stock bars are not wide enough to accept these style risers...

I'm assuming the pivots on the top of the stock block also turns into the same issue?? As in the riser is too wide to mount to the 'straight' flat part of the bar in the center...

Have you guys just cranked em down and ran em as is? Or... Different bars (which I don't really wanna get into....)

I've got the PowerMadd pivot with Fly 7" risers...maybe the PM pivot is a little narrower than the Fly pivot, but I just installed the risers on the pivot as narrow as possible and cranked em down on the bars.

Its the pivot/riser connection that will fail since this is where all the leverage is. I installed hex bolts in place of the allen bolts so I could really crank em down.

I did the Powermadd pivot adapter and 4" block. Some people just clamp it but I decided to do it the right way and grind the outside coners of the clamps so it fit the bars right. Over 1,700 miles so far and they haven't budged.

I'll see if I can get away w/ the grinding thing on this fly block...seems like some HARD metal tho..

IMO....If your bars aren't slipping, I wouldn't grind the Fly Risers...take a look at the pics of the PowerMadd riser...it's a single block, not the 2 separate risers like the Fly's.

I've stuffed the front end twice going over drops with holes at the bottom and both times the riser/pivot is what slipped...I switched the bottom riser bolts to hex bolts and got em really cranked down and no more slippage. The bars have never moved.

one thing i did notice is when i /pushed the risers in towards the center of the bar (as u see in the pic) that the bottom didn't try to 'push out' nearly as much as when i mounted them straight up and down (on the angles of the bar)...

I'm not sure which is better...having the tops tweaked in some to get closer to center on the bars..?

It looks goofy...but may work, I'll give it a shot..

Here is the least expensive solution to the riser problem and the best option for going taller and forward.

The part number for this is (PM15400 Universal 3” Pivot Adaptor / Riser $59.95). Just mount it upside down so that the "post" portion of the riser is on the plate of the steering post. Then attach your stock riser to the powermadd piece. Bingo!!! Perfect fit! :beer;

Sounds good, so any "plate" or "block" style riser will work with that then, it doesn't require the universal pivot specific risers itself?

I'm quite positive a 9" total rise will not fit the stock throttle cable..

Thanks for the direction... So, 7" Fly Risers for sale...with a Fly Pivot block.. hahaha

take universal pivot thingy and put the plate on ur steering post, so upside down of how they show it and still use ur fly risers on top of that, dont get ride of em. its the same idea as ur plate thing but its a bit taller and its not as wide so it will fit up to ur stock bars.

ohhhh ok now its making sense. :P aside from the 10" total riser height..that won't work.
