Nytro MTX 18T Drive Sprocket

Anyone running a 18T Drive Sprocket on a stock Nytro MTX? I recently ordered one up, but it hasn't come in yet.

Any suggestions? Complaints? Concerns running the 18 tooth drive?

i went with the 19/42 instead of the 18/40 almost the same gear ratio but more links on each sprocket, which should yield better chain life. other than than that my belt/clutches are much cooler. sleds top speed now is 90 ish rather than 100+.....thats just fine with me!

You should be fine... Ulmers site lists appropriate gear combinations... very handy!

I should have looked at that chart a little closer...... Didn't realize the ability to run 18/42 on the stock 68 chain was a possible.... Right now I am running 19/40, stock was 20/40. I liked the change, though I think it still needs more.... hence my want to go to 18/42....

IMO as long as you top speed is a lot higher then you track speed while climbing in pow, a change in gearing is a good thing.... Though I believe it will effect clutching also, as the torque / load signal sent to the secondary is changed...

I didn,t think we could get a 42 bottom in the nytro, but it sounds like we can can anybody confirm this for sure. I would not run an 18 with a turbo, not enough meat left and I have seen what happens when the gear comes apart.

tom is not running boost so he is safe... Ulmers site shows a 42 reverse gear available... though it is quite a bit of dough...
