NYTRO MPI Super charger problems!!

Anybody having problems with their MPI S/C. I can't get enough fuel at it. They said it would run 14-15 lbs boost, I am running 17-18 lbs, coolant hose rubbed through on the back side of the charger, and my A/F ratio guage reads 15-16 @ WOT. They sent me an external regulator and that never helped. Put 40 km's just running back and forth in a stubble field trying to get my GEMS fuel controller set. What are you turbo guys doing for fuel.

We just did a Phazer and the boost was way high at the shop,700 ft but when it got to the alpine 3500-4000 it started to settle down into 12 psi and AF of 13.

Add more fuel at the boost fuel adder stage and main jet.if that doesn't work call them,I think it's Mike,he was extremely helpful and knowledgable.

I have my main at 7.5 and boost fuel adder at 7.5 and my altitude at 7.5. Talked to Steve, Jerad, and Mac, not getting much help.

What are the limits for AF (13-14?)

I have heard stock fuel pump runs out of fuel at 14 or 15 lbs of boost, I am installing a surge tank and fuel pump with 1 to 1 regulator.

I agree. From what I was told last year, the Apex stock fuel pump is good to about 14 lbs. Are you running a Stage 2? If I remember from looking into them this year, same thing applies for a Nytro.

fuel

I put my regulator on and it fixed my fuel shortage, I am only running 12 lbs of boost. Most of my settings are in the mid range of the GEMS box.

When I was installing mine, I noticed coolant hose against Super housing. I guess I better get that taken care of before it leaves me stranded. Same problem at WOT and I ride at 9000'. Also running 15+ on boost. Different pulleys might be the trick. Also had trouble with TORS, or at least I hope thats what it was, still haven't had it out since i disabled it. New sled, with new mods. We are product testers at this stage.

What RPM's is it pulling? It won't live very long with a lean A/F like that. If you are over-revving, that will produce too much boost which will cause your problem. The SC's are more susceptible to altitude changes because the turbine is belt driven and require clutching changes to keep the RPM's for the correct altitude. An adjustable helix would help, or you could use a couple of different helixes but the primary needs to be loaded up first. Did a dealer set it up for you? As far as fuel on my turbo setup, I don't have to mess with it and don't run A/F meter. The MCX turbo sytem is premapped for up to about 18lbs (I believe) and mine came with a different fuel pump. We don't have to adjust anything other than the boost level we want to run at, the system even has an altitude compensator with it. I took off my altitude compensator and put an a Boostsmart adjuster in it's place so I can fine tune myself. on my son's Apex we took off the compensator and put a Tru-boost controller in it's place.
