Nytro mcx vs EVO (TD, D&D, Speedwerx) ac 1100 t

Biggest different is the chassis, not the motor. The Nytro motor is a very good motor, chassis totally sucks.

I have a cabin in Kilpisjarvi Finland.... Plenty off Nytros with MCX 270, just need more snow :-)

Agree, i would not hesitate one second to race against an 1100 EVO, and we have plenty of snow.
All for fun of course. :D

How is it possible it hasn't been done yet?

It's been done, with several comparable kits. I'm not one to start threads without video, even on first hand accounts. I rode a mcx 320 TApex for 4 years. I know what the benchmark is. I am very comfortable with the 1100 against a comparable nitro. If people like their Nitros great. In the end we all like to compete. I will compete against my riding partners regardless of what they ride.

I've been on front mount Nitros, which would be more comparable to the front mount cat. The Super Chute is the fastest spooling sled I have rode. Builds boost in less than 1000 rpm of engagement. You can mask lag with clutching but in the end there is no way to compensate for a turbo requiring "x" amount of air to build boost, short of designing a turbo that requires less.

Wonder how much boost an 1100 needs to reach ~275-300hp with an SC.
And is it done on pumpfuel 93 ?

260 on 93
300 on 100
None of the Evo kits run head shims. What boost each kit needs to make the kits rated power is dependent on the elevation, just like stock.

We always talk boost pressure @ sealevel because it rise @ altitude.

Do you know how much boost is needed to reach 260hp?

I'm surprised/impressed no chim is needed to reach these powerlevels, whats the trick to avoid detonation? (Low compression from factory, plenty of fuel, timing retarding?)

I only know boost numbers from dyno sheets and actual mountain riding. I could hazard a guess that 260 would be under 20lbs at sea level. For more exact numbers just contact Jim at Evo.

I will have to try one @ first opportunity, sounds as an fun sled, to bad no one i know have an EVO.
Norway, when and where shall we meet? :)
As i see it there are an M1100 EVO260 @ ~20lbs boost or an Nytro MCX270 @ ~17lbs boost, both running pumpfuel.
Power are comparable, so diffrence is in the sled setup and tuning.
Thanks for all the info.

My bc 250 makes 21lbs of boost at 1200 ft. You may wonder is it an animal. I say yes. I can't wait to get it in some deep snow. Right now I am still having trouble getting power to the ground. I think it is likely because it just roosts the track and over revs. I believe my clutch setup at high elevation should work a lot better though.

I haven't had a chance to get them side-by-side yet with an MCX-270 Nytro to compare but these new EVO Cats rip. We have done a BC250 and a BC275 now. It's tough to tell because the Cats are decievingly fast. A MCX Nytro hits super hard once you get into boost and feels crazy fast and pulls hard, the EVO Cat doesn't quite feel that way as it is a much smoother more controllable power and doesn't have the lag and boost hit a MCX kit does I find, but when you let off a EVO Cat you realize you are really hauling ***. I think things are going to get really fun this winter and gonna be alot of EVO vs MCX stuff going on. Can't wait for Yamafest! Should be fun!
Our BC275 was making 26lbs boost on C-12. It's meant to run 100LL.

. Cory what kind of fuel do you run in you 270 mcx nitro.also what kind of money to build one of these cats to run in the 270ish HP.

I am not Cory, but they are tuned to run on Premium pump fuel.
Higher octane will make less hp.
