Nytro driver question

Was looking under the sled during the first oil change and noticed the drive side of extrovert drivers are peeling off.

It's almost like they are rubbing on the track clips or they are somehow not timed right. The left side drivers look fine if I remember right.

Thanks

I have a replacement set on here for sale 3.0 pitch and they are WHAL for a Nytro.
In case your interested??

Thanks

How do your hifax look? Could it just be melted hifax transfered from the clips to the driver teeth? If your looking to replace them I would recommend avids, they hold up really well especially if boosted.

This is a fairly common problem. See if the material "peels" off the driver faces. Use a needle nose or Leatherman type tool. If it does, it is more that likely re-deposited hyfax material.

Notches at the base of the teeth usually mean wear on the drivers.

Scott,

The leading edge of the external driver teeth is where all this is taking place. And yes, it does seem seem like it will peel off. The tooth looks like it does have some wear going on as well.

How could melted hifax get transferred the external driver teeth?

Thanks

Mark,

Like Apex Jeff said, the melted hyfax will stick to the track clips and then through some miraculous scientific method, re-adhere to the leading edge of the drivers. Seems to happen most often during low snow conditions.

If you're still in question about your drivers, change them out. The Wahl brothers hold up well ( probably all you need with a normally aspirated sled ) and the Avids are the best out there.

like others said, its hifax material stuck to the drivers. Go with the avids over wahl if you decide to replace them.

I will have to check the hyfax to see if they are melted. The snow conditions were not good for the last ride, hopefully that's my problem...

Thanks!
