Nytro crank bearings

sled is 09 nytro ,I notice when i lift up on the clutch there is a small bit of movement ,it seems to be in the pto bearing,is the nytro drive clutch fastened directly to the crank or is there some kind of reduction gear or something that could cause some movement?

There is a sub-assembly on the end of the crank that is mated through a spline. Consists of two bearings, one oiled the other grease(outside). Also has a gear in between bearings and a healthy crank-case seal. Assembly is around 500 retail Canadian. Good luck. Problem is you have to pull engine split block to replace sub-assembly. Great idea to have sub-assembly but F***ed up idea to have to pull engine down to replace.

Happy Wrenchin! My happiness is just about done!!!!

If your lifting the outer sheve of the clutch there is a bit of play I've noticed on the yamaha clutches. Have you pulled your clutch and tryed moving the crankshaft to confirm bearing failure?

thanks for the info,is a little play normal? the sled has about 1200 klm ,about 400 of that boosted. it just weirded me out when i realized there was movement it hasn't caused trouble yet .is this a weak point that can need replaced?

Movement is normal on clutch. I just installed a brand new one and it's the same. However there should be no movement on Crankshaft.
If there was as much movement as you described on the reduction stub the motor would have been done by now.
Cheers

Movement

The outside bearing is probably a roller bearing and you might have some movement.

Your clutch on the Nyrto, is not attached to the crank, it's attached to a stub shaft that is splined on the crank shaft loosely, so the whole clutch can lift a little, but it's normal.
