The other day my mcx 270 nytro started blowing oil out the breather too the point that the oil light would come on after a day of riding, no issues for years till this weekend, idiot light seemed to only come on after hard back to back pulls, I would sit for a bit light would stay off if I limped back to cabin. Topped up oil (thanks to the sasky turbo nytro group up on boulder). Made some hard runs oil light come on checked level oil level fine but oil was areated ( frothy). Checked lines and catch can everything was good.

Any ideas?

If it's blowing oil out the breather when under load/boost, its possible that it may be leaking cylinder pressure (compression) past the rings and pressurizing the crankcase.
The best way to test for proper cylinder sealing, is to do a cylinder leak down test.
Normally 8% is considered the maximum amount acceptable leakage, with a well sealed motor around 3% depending on the amount of air pressure being applied.

do a leak down test it will tell you what is going on, but if your case breather gets plugged it can cause it to push oil out.if it continues its a ring or headgasket.

K I will do that, my initial thoughts was that it shouldn't/better not be the rings since its like 500km on rebuilt motor,. Sounds like the case breather cause it seems to have shaped up now

sometimes a fresh rebuilt motor will push oil for a bit till the rings seat too. if you had the pistons done you shouldnt run synthetic for the first 500miles or so to help seat them.

if you overfill it it, it will push out the vent as well. check you oil level.. And no.. new motors won't push oil out the vent line..

Only running 15#, leakdown kit is at the farm so I'm just gonna go for a spin tommorrow to check, never blew oil before only did it for the one day,. When the pistons were done proper yamaha break In Was followed,. Rings woulda been effed or not staggered to be blowin that much oil
