NWGC 3rd Annual Avalanche Awareness Course

Please see the flyer below. This is a great course to help remind you what to be thinking about when you are out on the snow. The beacon use and rescue scenarios are especially helpful in understanding just what it will take to save someone. Though, as the class will teach you, if you get caught in an avy, you have already done something wrong.

This class will help remind you of what to look for in snow conditions and terrain, and also common mistakes we all make about what is and isn't safe out there in the mountains.

Take it as your first Avy class, or take it as a refresher, the class has benefits to both groups.

fyi - this is the same weekend as the Spokane Snow Show.... any thoughts of doing a second weekend?

Karen - when the class fills up on this weekend we are planning to do a second weekend on December 12th.

There are conflicts on virtually EVERY weekend this time of year so we just had to pick a weekend and go with it to get everyone trained before the snow flies. My apologies to anyone going to the Spokane Snow Show...

I really could use a refresher, but that is about the worst date for me due to a previous family obligation (wife getting surgery). If the December 12th date opens count me in.

TomMTX,
No worries, we will have more courses available (not necessarilyhosted by NW Glacier Cruisers). I will keep you on my list--
Good luck on the surgery too your wife!!

Still a few slots open for Saturday. Snows flying--get your safety training now--make the wife happy. Plan to ride another day.

Hope to see you there.

Just a note,
The "Sled Shed" in Puyallup is hosting a avy course as well. The two courses are the same material and same program--different instructors.

No excuses, get training now!
