numbers on cylinders..?

Im in the process of buying new cylinders for my 2012 SBA 800. Almost every place I call they ask me what the numbers are on my cylinders. my number is "3022352" examples of other numers are "3021843", 3022201", "3022205".
My question is, other than the difference of their being 2 injector holes on the cfi2 (2011-2014) and 4 injector holes cfi4 (2008-2011) what else is different with the different cylinder numbers that make it a difference in which one you get? I know the injector holes really don't matter, apparently you can just plug the extra the injector holes. anyone know the differences? is there a good number or bad number to have?

Just guessing here, but I would think port height was changed over the years. The distributors might have several cylinders and are trying to get you the right ones.

Just a guess.
