THis is a GOOD thing....It will bring some reality to the world so people realize that maybe PAYING for stuff is a good thing and just going out and financing a New Hummer, Quad, Sled, because my buddy got a new one isn't really necessary.......TOOOOOO EASY TO BUY STUFF.....I was brought up that it is required that you have the funds to pay for something BEFORE you buy it......My 25 cents.

keep paying cash. One thing to consider, the problem gets worse if EVERYONE puts off purchases until they have cash. The economy can't grow if lending and purchasing doesnt turn around. Remember ecomonics is more of a social science. The better people feel about their propects for the future and their willingness to go into debt and or spend money makes the whole system work. Look no further than Wall Street to prove this. The market is up and down mostly on news and then investors reaction to that news.

My point. If the whole world converts to cash only we're all going down.

House prices have been going up and up for years now. If you are in for the long haul, you will make money in real estate. The biggest single issue when it comes to the slide is everyone piling into the market at the same time. Everyone thinks that the market has capped and prices are not going to go higher. You get a flood of sellers which means competition for the few buyers out there. Prices won't tank like they did in the states. Prices will drop but it's way better than a bundh of funky mortgages taking people out of their homes.

Now let's solve the price of gas.

Good point. I guess "work" is a matter of debate. The interesting thing is the US economy contines to grow (slow mind you) and that by definition means we aren't in a recession. But because all we hear everyday is bad news it feels like we are in one and then spending behavior is altered and it continues it downward cycle.

It's better to have the exchange rate slightly in the U.S favor. It makes our dirty oil and lumber less expensive for our friends to the south.
