Not getting fuel? Do I need to prime?

Just put all new fuel lines on my wifes 90 488 Indy Trail deluxe. Sled ran fine before I replaced. I put clear lines on so I can see no fuel is getting sucked through.

So I checked the fuel tank to make sure the line wasn't disconnected and it was ok. So now I believe its probably the fuel pump? How do I check to see if its working properly?

Also I noticed a hose on the front of my sled that is not connected? Not sure where it goes. Right now its connected to the bottom of the sled in front of the motor that runs through the hull of the sled on the left side below the exhaust, not sure where the other end connects. What does this hose do?

Sometimes you have to have the gas tank fairly full to get the fuel to flow when all the lines and carbs are dry. If the fuel pump worked good before the new lines were put on, it still should, even if it is a little weak.

I'm not sure about the hose you are saying is unhooked, but being a deluxe, it could be the battery breather hose that sticks out the bottom of the belly pan.

Should be four lines coming out of the fuel pump. One to the crankcase, one to one carb, one to the other carb, and one back to the tank. Did you replace those lines too? Maybe you mixed up the line that's supposed to go to the crankcase and put it on a carb. The pulse from the crankcase runs the fuel pump so it's important to have them right.

Figured it out, I just blew air into the tank and it sent the fuel down the lines. As far as that hose I think your right about being the battery breather hose since its right below the battery box. Must of been on the old style battery.
