1st ride of the year: (Michigan trail), 1st day it was 30 deg. no issues.
2nd day: Real cold, 15 deg., then wind chill below zero. Started it up 2 pulls, let it warm up, 1800 rpm/ish.. at 125 i touched the trottle to 2200rpm, very light and noticed a "cough", like 1 cyl. miss.. so i left it idle.. then heat soak,etc.. finally i was able to at stop just rev to 3000 and noticed the slight miss made my gauges re-set(speedo did the check spin thing) sled didn't shut off.. then i took a 30 mph drive down road while every one got ready.. drove great no issue..
During the day at stop at road crossings i noticed at idle,1800, it would miss one cylinder coough,, no shut off,, but it did it. No issues while driving,, great performance.
How often: Like once every 3 road crossings,, which is a 30 sec. idle wait while we have our group of riders re-group.
I wonderd: Plugs ? Didn't change them.
Badfuel ? (One small gas station only had 87 octain)
Some points in day it did not do this cough at stop at all.
Maybe my imagination but after a 93 octain top off, seemed to do it almost never,, but still did hear and there.
My buddies on F7's said there's were doing it too. They all thought cause it was so cold.
I do have the SLP vents on both sides,, cutch runs very cool,,, and muffler must be getting cooled too.
This did do it at warm up on that VERY cold morning,, so cooling muffler too much wouldn't reall play out on theory of issue.
Motor is strong and NO issues at all in any ranges,, just a cough/one miss at idle once in a while.
Any ideas ? I did do some searching on here and TPS is usually called out. But i would say that would be if i had issues at different RPM's... And this problem is not bad enough to stop my next ride,, but im curious if anyone has feedback from experience.
