Nosepan droop

Had a big snow weekend, the wife's '10 dragon's nosepan pulled our of the tabs around the bumper. It appears that as snow builds up and turns into ice near the front a arm, it pulls the nosepiece down. I have it inside now to thaw out and add her skid plate. Anyone else see this?

Yeah, my buddy has a 2010 dragon as well, and the nose pan and hood separated. There was a gap of about 1.5-2 inches for a while. We weren't sure how it happened!

Happened to one of my 2010 dragons on the first ride...took it to the Dealer with 35 miles on the sled. They told me they can't warranty plastic....still irritated over this. Looks to me to be a design issue or brittle plastic. Should be taken care of under warranty. Called Polaris....what a waste of time that is! Going to a different Dealer this weekend to see what they say.

I'm not sure if it would help reinforce your nose pan or not but Skinz makes a hood bracket for the 09 and 10 dragons that is made from aluminum. It's $50 off their site.

Skinzprotecticegear.com I'd call them and ask if it supports the nose pan also. I'm not sure.

Mine did it as well. 2009 Assault.

Plastic tabs are junk. I am going with an after market bumper. These bumpers allow you to rivet the plastic to the bumper in more than one spot.

Nose droop

Which bumper are you looking at? riviting it to the bumper is a good idea. I am going to put a skid plate on hers today with a couple U-bolts coming from inside around the bumper to hold it together. Crappy design with the two plastic tabs holding the whole thing on. Everytime someone asks me why the Ghetto fix, I will be glad to show them.

Once I got it inside and thawing out, you could watch the pastic nosepiece begin to go back into place. The more snow that melted, the closer it got to being in place. Doesn't do any good, the tabs broke early.

I have a '10 800 RMK, another thing to worry about with these sleds.

My 2010 Assault, and my buddy's 2010 Assault both had this same thing happen in the first 200 miles. The dealer is warrantying them for us. When I get it back I am going to put old school style hood latches on them and cut the plastc below the A-arms. Hopefully this will help.

Well if it was anything like my 09 800 D It was not the belly pan sagging but the bumper was forced up I went into a bank and hit pretty hard I tapped the bumper back down with a skid and it came back together.......It had the hood forced up.......

Heres a pic of mine. Once the snow melted from below the control arms it seems to line up pretty good. Bumper looks the same as the other sled that isn't broke. :noidea:

Nose

both of mine are the same as raptobob's. as soon as the snow melted, they lined up OK. the tabs are broken. I put a skid plate on hers this weekend, and will put mine on tomorrow. I reinforced her plate/bumper attachment points to see what happens. didn't replace the nose plastic yet.
I had already put old school hood latches back on the sides of the cowling. Might need a couple more on the front....Sheesh
