My son spent last winter at Prudhoe Bay working for Haliburton. He actually enjoyed the experience. He also said that when it's 60 below the roads aren't near as slick as they are at 25 above.

i never thought that i would say it, but that almost makes me miss the slope.....especially the good cooking

Yep. Worst road conditions I've ever driven on were an Ice Road last winter at zero degrees. The week prior we had driven it at forty below and it was better then the average gravel road.

I've never been unhappy with the heaters in either of my Fords... they cook

Nope, I was working with one of the guys in it though and he told me to check it out. Think it was filmed the winter before I came up.
